My name is Sara Stadtmiller. I’ve been in love with photography since 1990, when I took my first photo class and purchased my first real camera (Minolta X370). I’ve been working as a professional photographer since I graduated college (Montclair State University 2000), which has afforded me the opportunity to be completely submerged in the world of photography.
Over the years, my personal work has varied in shape, size and subject matter. I don’t have a favorite camera, I have many: a digital SLR with many beautiful lenses, a Diana Camera, my 4×5 view camera, a Lubitel, and even my iPhone (to name a few). All of which, I have produced images with that can be seen here.
After years of making photographs I recognize that my own unswerving aesthetic (albeit always refining and evolving), is to visually capture energy in all forms. I’m usually drawn to blankness and simple compositions. My aspiration is to take the viewer to an enlightened space.
